SYPNOPSIS
Stored at the Tooele Army Depot are more than one million aging rockets, bombs, shells, and mines, each designed to disperse deadly mustard gas or nerve gas. There are enough poisons stored here, in fact, to kill every human being on the planet handily, if the lethal doses could somehow be effectively administered. After storing these deadly munitions for decades, the base is now attempting to destroy the weapons safely before they can cause harm—accidental or otherwise. Along with fellow reporter Seth Shulman, I visited the base to report on the first full-scale test of the Army’s ability to get rid of its old chemical weapons.
